I am an entrepreneur which means I spend my days thinking of ways to improve, grow, expand and stay one step ahead. Sleep is a for gone conclusion and the string of sticky pads by my bed are my best friend. When you decide that the lack of sleep, increased level of stress and bewildered look isn’t enough you decide to become a mom. This entrusts that you have a WHOLE new respect for tired & lack of sleep. At this point you also realize that what you were doing before was basically a vacation. For example if I had a huge event or a season turn over to do – I could work like a crazy person 24/7 and grind it out till it was all done then fall face forward into oblivion for 12 hours and wake up ready to go again. Becoming a mom and especially in the first 5 years guarantees that no only do you have no idea what day or year it is, you can’t remember if you brushed your teeth or put deodorant on and sleeping for more than 45-55 minutes consecutively in the first year is a joke. So you spend the next 18 trying to catch up and at some point your so high on “mommy hood” you have another or a few more because it can’t be that bad – it is!
So the picture below is what happens when mom and boss meet. I have successfully made it into my store and found the lipstick that isn’t dried up thank goodness but my hair – not happening and I may or may not have matching shoes, but all of that is a mute point because I am physically if not mentally in my store. So thus begins the 5 year adventure or basically until they are in school of juggling being a mom and being a boss which is quite interesting considering you have permanent mom brain.
